SCHOOL HISTORY

AIC Thurdibuoro Mixed Secondary School was started in the year 1966 as Harambee (self-help) Secondary school spear headed by Hon. Ondiek Chilo MP, HSC. It was registered by the government in the year 1967 with the Manager being Hon. Tom Okello Odongo and the first teacher, Noah Miguda, then student at Makerere University.

In 1981, the Ministry of Education took over the management of the school as a government maintained school with the first Headteacher Mr. Boaz Mola Alondo (1981—1988) KenGen Company re-built the school at its current site between 1999 and 2000 to pave way for the power generation site.

Since its inception, the school has grown in leaps and bounds to its current status of Extra County School and an academic giant in the County and Nationally.

The school is anchored on strong Christian foundation under the AIC sponsorship. We are proud of our founding fathers led by Hon. Chilo, the community, KenGen Company, Board of Management, former Headteachers, Alumni, Parents, teaching and non-teaching staff and the students for the good work in the school.

God bless all, God bless Thurdibuoro
